Physician Training

We are happy to announce that Dr. Leary has been selected as a physician trainer and a preceptor for the American College of Phlebology.  There are currently sixteen physician trainers in the United States.  This program is designed to improve public health by facilitating physician trainings from experienced, expert phlebologists in order for healthcare providers to receive one-on-one training in a clinical setting.  If you are a physician and a member of the American College of Phlebology interested in training in this field, please refer to the ACP website at http://phlebology.org/

Endovenous Laser Ablation Training

Dr. Leary is a board certified phlebologist and has been nationally recognized as an Endovenous Laser Ablation Trainer. He has trained many practitioners nationwide. He was previously the only Endovenous Laser Ablation trainer in California for Diomed Laser Company, which is the company that developed the first endovenous laser procedure or EVLT.

Dr. Leary is currently an Endovenous Laser Ablation trainer for Biolitec Laser Company. Biolitec Laser Company is the creators of the newest Endovenous laser technology. According to Dr. Leary, “Technology continues to evolve and it is exciting to train practitioners on the newest Endovenous Laser and radio frequencies.” The latest generations of lasers that Dr. Leary uses and trains with are gentle, with little or no post-op pain to the patient. There is also very little bruising and patients can continue with their normal activities after the treatment. It is estimated that more than 25 million Americans suffer from venous disease. The development of new laser treatments for venous disease opens up many new treatment modalities for approaching and treating superficial venous disease.

For physicians interested in learning these innovative new treatments, we can arrange teaching and proctoring sessions in our Newport Beach office with Dr. Leary. Training can be set up on a personal basis targeting your particular needs or interest. Individual sessions on the practical applications of laser therapy are helpful for the novice, as well as the more experienced practitioners.

Excellent Vein Teacher

“I have known Dr. Michael Leary since early in 2006 when I visited him in his office and spent the day with him to learn endovenous treatment with Diomed 810-nm laser. I found him to be quite honest and to have an excellent method of teaching the new procedure. Since that time, I have communicated with him several times. He has been extremely honest and helpful. Recently, I visited his office to observe the Biolitec 1470-nm laser and again was impressed with his candor and understanding of the concepts necessary for the procedure. He communicates very well. He is an excellent teacher, and I highly recommend him.”

“I read about Dr. Leary’s sclerotherapy skills in an aesthetic journal; during my training with him I was extremely impressed by his theoretical knowledge and his clinical expertise. He demonstrated how to do everything, let me observe, and then talked me through the actual process. Before my training I was uncomfortable doing sclerotherapy on my patients; it didn’t feel safe. I left feeling not only could I do it safely, I could do it effectively and my patients would be satisfied with the aesthetic results. Dr. Leary is a fantastic trainer and teacher.”
